Research Interests
- General: Numerical solution of PDEs, Inverse problems, Large-scale PDE-constrained optimization, Uncertainty quantification
- Methods: Finite element, Boundary element, Adjoint based inversion, Hessians, Bayesian inference, Stochastic Newton MCMC
- Applications: Ice sheets inverse problems, Wave propagation, Trace gas sensing
Research projects I am currently involved
- Modeling the dynamics of polar ice sheets with particular
emphasis on developing methods for solving inverse ice sheet
problems.
- Check out a recent poster I presented at the
WCRP conference in 2011 [mytalk/poster]. (My contribution: the inversion.)
Research projects I have been involved during my PhD studies
- Computational Modeling of Quartz-Enhanced
PhotoAcoustic Spectroscopy
Sensors [info, some photos]
- Thesis title: "Mathematical Modeling, Analysis, and Simulation of Trace Gas Sensors" (PhD advisers
Dr. Susan Minkoff
and Dr. John Zweck)
- A nice presentation that sumarizes the research we did while I was a grad student at UMBC (given by my PhD adviser, Dr. Susan Minkoff)
