My projects in the lab involve T cell self-tolerance mechanisms, in particular regulatory T cells, during autoimmune hemolytic anemia initiation and progression. I am also interested in alterations in hematopoiesis during T cell mediated autoimmunity. In my free time I love to bike and explore the Sierras.

The intricate and concise interplay of activators and suppressors ensures the integrity of host immunity and protection from disease. A major focus of research to date has been devoted to the activator component of the immune system. However, I believe that we can gain a more thorough understanding of the immune system by studying and learning how to control the regulatory component.
