ARNOLD D. KIM
PROFESSOR OF APPLIED MATH

I am a founding member of the Department of Applied Mathematics at UC Merced.

I study interdisciplinary research problems at the interface between mathematics, science and engineering. My research focuses on wave propagation and scattering with applications in imaging, spectroscopy, remote sensing, photonics, and plasmonics. The research includes the study of differential and integral equations, asymptotic analysis, scientific computing and inverse problems. I am also interested in developing mathematical models for a variety of other applications.
