Mplus programs, 4/16/2009

Given time, we will employ a number of Mplus programs today. First, we will revisit our example from last time in which we replicated the books illustration. This time, though, we will work in the correlation metric. Here is the modified version of the first program we ran last time, and here is the second program.

Next, we will investigate two phases of a mimic analysis. First, we will look at our model without covariates. Then we will add a covariate.

We will follow that up with a by-group analysis that is similar conceptually. On our initial attempt, we will encounter problems. However, with some recoding, we will implement the by-groups analysis, (albeit with some sample-size related issues).

Finally, we will perform a similar analysis on a larger data set. There will be five programs involved:

  • an initial attempt;
  • a modification of our initial model;
  • a further modification;
  • a successful attempt; and
  • a similar analysis without the grouping variable.
