Jennifer Mendiola

Master's of Arts
Jennifer Mendiola is a fourth year health psychology graduate student at the University of California, Merced. Broadly, her research investigates the interactions between emotion, risk behaviors, and social relationships. Her current projects address the following questions:

1) How do emotions vary in their relationship with health decisions?

2) How do cognitive and affective assessments of risk work together to predict health intentions and behavior?

To answer her research questions, she uses a variety of qualitative (individual interviews, focus groups, systematic reviews) and quantitative methods (secondary data analysis, randomized experiments, longitudinal designs, ecological momentary assessments). She also enjoys learning new statistical methods, designing and improving measures, and building her skills in SAS, MPlus, Stata, and R.
