I am an Assistant Professor of Applied Mathematics in the School of Natural Sciences at the University of California, Merced. I joined UC Merced as a Founding Faculty member in July 2005.

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering. My M.S. and Ph.D. degrees are from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and are also in Mechanical Engineering. I spent two years as an NSF-VIGRE postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Applied Mathematics at UC-Boulder.

Outside of UC Merced, I try to climb and ski as much as I can. My wife and I live in Mariposa, so Yosemite has become one of my favorite places to climb. However, as a new dad, climbing and skiing have taken a back seat.
