Novela que trata de la historia familiar del narrador, cambiando de una a otra rama de la familia. La novela se concentra en las décadas de 1920 a 1950, en las que las diferentes ramas familiares se establecen en Los Ángeles. En inglés, con algunas frases en español, traducidas en notas a pie de página.
