What You See in the Dark (Manuel Muñoz)

Watching and reading go hand in hand in this novel in which Muñoz writes about Bakersfield, CA in the late 1950s. Two main stories intersect one another at several turns in the narrative: one focuses on the Watsons (Arlene and her son Dan) and other local characters, especially the somewhat mysterious half-Mexican Teresa, and the other revolves around the making of Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho. In English.
