A novel about the family of Luz López, a precocious girl with the gift of a seer. The novel is set mostly in Colorado: in Denver for the most recent events, and in the Lost Territory for the earlier generations. The plot is not told in a chronological fashion; rather, the narrative jumps back and forth, weaving in and out of the different generations. A powerful meditation on love, violence, racism, disenfranchisement, sexuality, migration, and spirituality, among other topics.

La novela se centra en la familia de Luz López, una niña precoz con el don de la adivinación. Se desarrolla casi en su totalidad en Colorado, en Denver en el caso de los episodios más recientes, y en el Territorio Perdido, en aquellos que se dedican a las generaciones anteriores de la familia. La trama no se desarrolla en orden cronológico sino a través de saltos al pasado y al presente. El texto proporciona una importante reflexión sobre el amor, la violencia, el racismo, la marginación, la sexualidad, la migración y la espiritualidad, entre otros temas.
