Tortillas de mano, nopales de Dios (Joseph Ayala)

Three chapbooks inspired by the author’s childhood memory of watching his mother cook tortillas. After sharing that reminiscince, the author has this to say about his poems in the first of these volumes: “So, here in these pages I’ve made for you my tortillas, a mixture of sound and shape, of culture and food so old it goes back to the beginning of kings and clouds” (n.p.).
