About
I am an Assistant Professor of Sociology at UC-Merced. I received my BA from The University of Texas and my MA and PhD from Indiana University. My research interests are political sociology, social movements, quantitative methodology, and social change. I focus in particular on how citizen involvement with democratic politics is changing over time. Currently, my research examines how citizen participation in both elections and protests have changed since the 1960s. My recent publications include "The Movement Society in Comparative Perspective" (in Mobilization) and "The Return of the American Voter? Party Polarization and Voting Behavior, 1988 to 2004" (in Sociological Perspectives).
