I was born and grew up in Baltimore, MD. Just after starting high school, I moved to Shreveport, LA. For college, I went to Northwestern University in Evanston, IL where I earned a B.S. in Engineering Sciences and Applied Mathematics. Then I went to University of Washington in Seattle, WA for graduate school where I earned a M.S. and a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics. Afterwards, I moved to Stanford University to work as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Mathematics. During that time, I spent spring semester of 2001 as a postdoctoral fellow at the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute. I arrived at UC Merced in July of 2004. A more detailed description of my academic history is available in my curriculum vitae. |
